New for GMS 7.0, SMS 10.0, WMS 8.2 and AHGW 2.0
In the past, when a company upgraded to a newer version of the program, they mailed the old lock to Aquaveo to be re-burned and mailed back. To make this process more convenient, starting with GMS 7.0, SMS 10.0, WMS 8.2, and AHGW 2.0, Aquaveo has streamlined the process, allowing users to re-burn their locks on their own computers. Following is exactly how this process works:
Steps for updating a hardware lock to match a software upgrade
- Upon confirmation of payment, a member of the Aquaveo sales team will enter the company information in a database and send a matching registration code to you.
- If not already done, install the upgraded software from the Aquaveo Download Center.
- Plug the existing hardware lock (which is currently programmed for a previous version) into the computer.
- Open the XMS software and select Help | Register.
- Select the "Change Registration" button.
- Select the "Hardware lock" option, then select "Next >".
- Select the "Local lock on my machine..." option, then activate the "I have a code to modify my hardware lock*" checkbox.
- Enter your registration code in the field to the right of the "I have a code to modify my hardware lock*", then select "Next >". This does a few things in the background:
- It retrieves the serial number of the hardware lock in your machine and sends it and the registration code over the internet to Aquaveo's database.
- The hardware lock serial number is then appended to the database along with a timestamp, and the enabled models are retreived.
- After this point, the registration code can not be used for any other hardware lock.
- The hardware lock is burned, and it can be now be used on any computer.
