Course Summary:
- Groundwater Flow & Transport Modeling with GMS
Orlando, Florida USA | March 9-12, 2010
Salt Lake City, Utah USA | September 21-24, 2010
The groundwater modeling training course by Aquaveo is designed as a hands-on, application oriented training course. The course will provide the attendees with the knowledge and tools necessary to solve groundwater modeling problems quickly and efficiently. The course will begin with a discussion on how to use the geostatistical tools in GMS to characterize existing contaminant plumes in both two- and three-dimensions. A series of tutorials and lessons on the GMS interface to MODFLOW/MODPATH/ MT3DMS/RT3D will then be given including an explanation of how to use the Map Module to create numerical models directly from a high-level conceptual model constructed with GIS tools. Analytic element modeling with MODAEM will also be covered...
- 2D Hydrodynamic Flow & Transport with SMS
Orlando, Florida USA | March 16-19, 2010
Salt Lake City, Utah USA | September 14-17, 2010
The 2D Surface Water Modeling with SMS training course is designed for hydraulic engineers who wish to learn how to use automatic mesh generation tools in combination with proven analytical software to perform their two-dimensional hydrodynamic modeling projects. In this hands-on, application oriented training course will provide you with the knowledge and tools necessary to solve 2D hydrodynamic modeling problems quickly and efficiently with the latest version of SMS. The course will teach users how to use SMS visualization tools to illustrate flow fields in 2D also. A series of lessons and tutorials are provided on RMA2 and FESWMS for flow modeling and RMA4 for transport modeling, including how to use the SMS Map module to create numercal models from high-level conceptual model data (GIS objects)...
- Coastal Circulation and Wave Modeling with SMS
Orem, Utah USA | December 8-11, 2009
This four-day workshop will provide you with the knowledge and tools necessary to apply numerical models in a wide range of coastal modeling applications. This course is will provide instruction in using the newly released SMS v10.0 for modeling of coastal circulation, tides, waves, wave-current interaction, sediment transport, and morphology change. A step-by-step approach will be used providing instruction and examples covering the modeling process from regional to project scale. Models covered include CMS-Flow, CMS-Wave, PTM, BOUSS-2D, CGWAVE, STWAVE, and ADCIRC. An introduction to the newly released Particle Tracking Model (PTM) will also be included...
- Hydrologic and Hydraulic Modeling with WMS
Orlando, Florida USA | March 23-26, 2010
Salt Lake City, Utah USA | September 7-10, 2010
The watershed and river modeling training course is designed as a hands-on, application oriented training course. The course will provide the attendees with the knowledge and tools necessary to get the most out of GIS data developed specifically for watershed modeling and hydraulic modeling. How to use digital terrain data for development of hydrologic and hydraulic parameters important to common analysis programs - HEC-1, HEC-HMS, TR-55, NFF, And HEC-RAS. Attendees will set up and run hydrologic and hydraulic simulations using several industry standard numerical models...
- Hydrologic Modeling with GSSHA, HEC-HMS & WMS
The introduction to the hydrologic modeling course begins with an overview of the hydrologic modeling capabilities available in the Watershed Modeling System (WMS). Learn about the US Army Corps of Engineers Hydrologic Modeling System (HEC-HMS) and how to build lumped parameter and quasi-2d hydrologic models using WMS and HEC-HMS. This course will also introduce the US Army Corps of Engineers Gridded Surface Subsurface Hydrologic Analysis (GSSHATM) model and how to set up basic and advanced GSSHATM models using WMS. GSSHATM is a 2D hydrologic model that can be used to model basic watershed rainfall/runoff processes. GSSHA can also be used to model more advanced watershed processes such as wetland hydraulics, sediment erosion/deposition, spatially varying precipitation (RADAR rainfall), long-term simulation, and groundwater flow.
